Airbnb shares jumped 13% in premarket trading after the company reported third-quarter 2026 earnings that topped Wall Street estimates, prompting management to raise its full-year 2026 outlook for both revenue growth and profitability, according to Airbnb's Q3 2026 financial results and CNBC.
Earnings and Revenue Beat Estimates

Airbnb reported third-quarter earnings of $3.16 per share, beating analysts' consensus estimate of $2.85, CNBC reported. Revenue of $4.87 billion also came in ahead of the Street's $4.75 billion estimate, according to LSEG data cited by CNBC.
By our calculation, the $3.16 reported figure exceeded the $2.85 consensus estimate by $0.31 per share, a roughly 10.9% beat (3.16 minus 2.85, divided by 2.85, multiplied by 100). CNBC said the beat was enough to send Airbnb shares up 13% in premarket trading.
Raised Full-Year Outlook

Airbnb said in its Q3 2026 financial results that it is raising its full-year 2026 outlook for both revenue growth and Adjusted EBITDA Margin. The company now expects year-over-year revenue growth in the high teens for the full year, which it attributed to execution across its product roadmap and resilient travel demand. Airbnb also said it now expects Adjusted EBITDA Margin to increase to approximately 36% for the year, which it described as reflecting year-over-year margin expansion driven by stronger top-line growth and operating leverage in its core business, even as it continues to invest in new growth opportunities.
Underlying Growth Drivers
According to Airbnb's report, Gross Booking Value grew 21% year-over-year to $27.7 billion in the third quarter, which the company said was driven by strong demand and a moderately higher Average Daily Rate. Net income for the quarter was $1.9 billion, and Adjusted EBITDA grew 22% year-over-year to $2.5 billion, expanding Adjusted EBITDA Margin to 52%, Airbnb said.
Airbnb also said that in North America, nights booked grew at their fastest pace in four years. The company framed its broader growth trajectory as cumulative rather than the result of any single initiative, stating that its growth "isn't being driven by any single product or feature," but instead by hundreds of improvements made across the business over the last several years.
Product Velocity, AI, and Expansion Beyond Homes
Airbnb attributed part of its operating efficiency to artificial intelligence tools that it said are helping teams move faster. The company said it shipped more than 50 products and features in the third quarter, nearly 70% more than a year earlier, and that customer support cost per booking declined more than 17% year-over-year, driven largely by improvements to its AI assistant.
Looking ahead, Airbnb said it is building a new AI-native agent for trip planning and plans to begin rolling it out to guests in the first half of 2027. The company is also pushing beyond its traditional homes-sharing business: it said it now has thousands of boutique and independent hotels listed across more than 60 top destinations worldwide, and on October 22 it launched a partnership with American Express that will bring more than one million Airbnb listings to Amex Travel.
Capital Return

Alongside the results, Airbnb announced a new authorization to repurchase up to an additional $12 billion of its Class A common stock, which the company said reflects its confidence in Airbnb's future growth.
Bottom Line
Airbnb's third-quarter results combined an earnings and revenue beat reported by CNBC with a raised full-year outlook from the company itself, and shares rose 13% in premarket trading, according to CNBC. One interpretation of that move, tied to the disclosed figures, is that investors read the reported efficiency gains — including the more than 17% year-over-year decline in customer support cost per booking — together with the expansion beyond core homes into hotels, AI tools and the Amex Travel partnership as supports for continued growth; that reading is interpretation, not a company forecast. The measurable tests ahead are Airbnb's own stated expectations of high-teens full-year revenue growth and an Adjusted EBITDA Margin of approximately 36%.
