As I expected, the Fed leaves interest rates unchanged.
This is the second consecutive pause.
I believe the Fed is done raising the Fed Funds rate (the short-term interest rate).
The 10-year Treasury yield has plunged after the announcement – falling below the 4.75% level (it was close to 4.95% just before the announcement).
This bodes well for the market, and makes it more likely we get back above Nasdaq 13,000 this week – depending on a benign Non-Farms Payroll number on Friday.
This is good news for the market, but we must get back above Nasdaq 13,000 for confirmation the market has stabilized.
