Unless you have two brokers accounts attached to Ninja Trader. No you can not. Ninja Trader only allows a long or short position at a time per broker account on the same symbol…..

Should I set GTC or Day for TIF?

This depends on you and how you are going about trading. Are you keeping positions open past intraday and into initial margin? Then GTC is fine and will keep theposition open until you close out of it. Day will keep your position open until the end of the trading day…..
