Good Earnings and a Fed Pause (Market Update from Charles Green)

Hey friend,

Charles Green here, Senior Market Analyst here at Traders Agency.

Here’s today Market Pulse 360.

Market Pulse 360 for April 14, 2023

Several bank earnings are out this morning, and they are good. This will help to allay concerns about the next shoe to drop for regional banks owing to the recent bank scare.

Hopefully, these earnings have put bank solvency questions in the rearview mirror and remove this overhang from the market to move forward.

What’s more, inflation data (CPI, PCE, PPI, ISM, retail sales) are all still trending lower, which puts a pause closer, perhaps at the May 3rd Fed meeting.

Several regional Fed Governors have also recently made statements that we may have a “mild recession” at the end of this year, which puts the odds further in favor of a Fed pause in interest rate increases at the May 3rd Fed meeting.

This is all very good news for markets, and assuming the data continues its downtrend, we are in good shape for the market to continue to grind up, albeit not without high volatility until the next Fed meeting.

Recommended Strategy

Insider Effect – When overall sentiment is bullish but volatility is high, you want to look for stocks that have an added “hidden”catalyst that most people don’t know about.
