Prepare for the Big Move Up (Urgent Update from Charles Green)

Charles Green here, Senior Market Analyst here at Traders Agency.

Here’s today Market Pulse 360.

Market Pulse 360 for April 25, 2023

Markets have been in a holding pattern for the past few weeks, waiting for the Fed meeting and interest rate decision next Wednesday.

The Fed is likely to hike interest rates another .25%, meeting his target rate of 5%. Then he is likely to signal a pause, owing to the12-month downtrend in inflation from a peak of 9% in March 2022 to nearly 5.6% last month and the risk of a shallow recession.

Recession is highly unlikely with 3.5% unemployment, cyclical sectors of the economy reporting strong growth, and a very healthy economy.

There have been some layoffs and freezes in hiring in the past several months, primarily in the technology sector, but we still have a labor shortage, which will keep labor demand strong for the foreseeable future with wage pressure abating.

What does this all mean for traders?

Assuming the Fed pauses next week, we could have the biggest week this year, and the market will break out of its holding pattern, launching a new sustainable move up.

NOW is the time to get positioned in the best opportunities moving forward, and there is no better way to do this than trading with what insiders know about their own stock.

Major tech companies, the sector that have led the market since Oct 2022, will report earnings tonight and provide insight into the health of the economy. Year-over-year earnings comparisons (which were brought down by analysts during the peak of inflation) will be easier to achieve now and the outlook for earnings should be improving with surplus inventories down from last year.

Just last week Taiwan Semiconductor announced that the semiconductor chip glut is over and pricing power is returning.

A Bit More About Me

My specialty is understanding financial markets and the drivers that influence longer-term direction. I’ve been an active trader focusing primarily on stocks for over 20 years.

I’ve also:

  • Been an adjunct finance professor for nearly 20 years
  • Worked as a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch managing millions of dollars
  • Earned a Master of Science Degree in International Business and Finance from Georgetown University and a Bachelor in Arts Degree in International Studies from George Mason University.

My education, work and life experience gives me a broad view of the world, financial markets, and life in general that informs my trading and investment decisions.

My passion is helping others to take advantage of the best market opportunities to achieve their financial goals.

This gives me the greatest satisfaction, and it’s the reason why I continue to teach in the classroom and outside of it today with every activity in which I engage. I believe that I succeed only if clients succeed.

I am a very unlikely success story. And this is only because I believe that anything is possible with the right knowledge, focus, and winning mentality! When you have that, success is just a matter of time.
